Treating Mammary Pathology

     Currently, breast cancer is the most frequent in Spanish women, considering that one in every 10 or13 women will suffer it.

      On the other hand, it is one of the most advanced types of cancer in medicine in terms of its early diagnosis and treatment.

      The importance of an early diagnosis is to diagnose clinically asymptomatic women, before the nodule is palpable (considering that most cases of cancer are curable in this instance) through self-palpation, mammary revisions in annual gynecological controls (with complementary studies if required) and screening with mammography and/or breast ultrasound starting the screening at the age of 40.

      Treating Mammary PathologyIt’s an x-ray of the breasts that has the capacity to diagnose benign and malignant lesions even before they are clinically palpable.

      Screening protocols are subject to modifications according to the gynecologist's criteria and the patient's risk factors.

      If any pathology is suspected (nodules, microcalcifications, etc.) we will use complementary examinations, starting with image tests ( Ultrasound,CT, MRI) to more invasive methods such as FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration Puncture), VAP, Corebiopsia for histological study, And surgical lumpectomy.

      Each case will be studied by a whole series of medical specialists such as Gynecologists, Radiologists, Histopathologists, Oncologists, etc... who will perform the corresponding analysis and opinion exchange, proposing the patient the treatment they consider the most appropriate.

      Gynecologists Dr. Samaranch and Dr. Puig Menen, who have extensive clinical and surgical experience in breast pathology, collaborate with prestigious professionals such as Radiologists Dr. Sabaté, Dra. Torrubia and Dr. Clotet, Anatomopathologists Dr. Alameda, Oncologists of the IDOC (Institut of Oncology Corachán). All of them will evaluate each case, and will propose and perform to their patients the the treatment that means the minimum effective axiom of effective surgery and minimal effective treatment, to achieve the most optimal results with the least possible aggression.       The disease can not be avoided, but its consequences must be minimized and this is achieved through an early diagnosis, an adequate treatment and an effective psychological support in a good environment.
